S2 design and advertising Ltd

Bio

I first started doing commercial design projects in the late 80’s, working as a freelance designer in the midlands.

Over my 30 years+ in this industry I’ve been employed in both the commercial and not-for-profit sectors with 2 stints in the charity sector, firstly as the lead designer for a national charity and then as the Design Manager for the Church of England.
On the agency side I’ve worked in publishing, creative marketing and in advertising with specialisms in design-for-print and branding: strategy, positioning and identity collateral.

In 1998 I became the studio director at a London agency with clients as diverse as international banks & the world safety body of nuclear power, to SME’s, charities and local councils. In 2001 my business partner and myself walked out of the agency to start S2 design.

I’ve always been fascinated by the reasons and methodology behind why we respond to a certain design or not. Psychology is a key weapon in any good graphic designers arsenal and so at S2 I’ve developed a formula that marries market research and data insights with design process thinking to create more impactive communications!
