Design Ventura: All Past Winning Products

Design Ventura launched in 2010 in partnership with Deutsche Bank, as part of their global youth engagement programme, Born to Be. The programme invites students to work in teams to tackle a live brief set by a leading designer to design a new product for the Design Museum Shop.

The winning team work with a professional design agency to develop their idea for sale in the Design Museum Shop. Since 2010, 10 student designed products have been sold raising more than £14,000 for charities including Rainforest Alliance UK, Great Ormond Street Hospital and The Brain Tumour Charity. Below are all of the past winning products:

Design Ventura 2020: Sow Beautiful by Heckmondwike Grammar School

Heckmondwike Grammar School won with their product Sow Beautiful, a flower seed cannon that creates a source of pollen for bees. This product is currently under development and will be on sale in the Design Museum Shop from Autumn 2021.

Twynham School won with their product originally called Design Cubes (now Creative [Un]blocks), a set of dice that help combat creative block. Users roll three dice to create a brief that they have to answer in 60 seconds.

Design Ventura 2019: Active Snap by Simon Balle All-through School

Simon Balle All-through School won with their product originally called Hit Snap (now Active Snap), a version of the game Snap to help players keep active. When a match is made, the opponent must perform the exercises pictured on the card. This product went on to be developed by Tomy Toys UK for nationwide sale.

Weatherhead High School won with their product called Petal Pot, a plant pot made from GumTec (recycled chewing gum) that expands as the plant grows, reducing the waste of replacing pots.
