Design Ventura

Our winners for the 2011 Design Ventura competition were Walworth Academy, Southwark. The brief asked them to design a product for the Design Museum shop to be sold for around £10 around the theme of ‘Play’.

Their idea was a multi-player game that is similar to tiddlywinks but all folds neatly away into a travel card holder so that you can carry it with you.

Here is their submitted entry:

The team then attended the Design Ventura pitching day and presented their idea to the panel of judges.

In February 2012 the team were presented with the top prize at the Celebration Event (see top photo), they then went on to work with design practice Build to develop Slick Shooter into a market ready product.

Including a change of name, ‘Badoiiing!’ all came together in July a production line to pack up the product ready to go into the Design Museum Shop:

At the 2012 Celebration Event the team came back and presented a cheque for £804.00, the profits from the sale of their product, to a Elijah Adeniji, a trustee of their chosen charity, The David Idowu Foundation.
