Winning Product 2013 – Sliderz
Our winners for the 2013 Design Ventura competition were Weald of Kent Grammar School, Tonbridge. The brief asked them to design a product for the Design Museum shop to be sold for around £10 around the theme of ‘Handy’.
They came up with playfully shaped squeezers that help reduce waste when using products that come in tubes.

The team then attended the Design Ventura pitching day and presented their idea to the panel of judges. Here is a video of the pitching day event:
In February 2014 the team were presented with the top prize at the Celebration Event, they then went on to work with design practice MultiAdaptor and product designer Chris Garcin to develop Sliderz into a market ready product.
A new name was needed as there was an existing product called Sliderz on the market.
The development for Squeezeys all came together in July with a production line to pack up the product and a launch in the Design Museum Shop:
The team also set up a pop up shop at the offices of Deutsche Bank in London
At the 2014 Celebration Event the team came back and presented a cheque for £1,390, the profits from the sale of their product, to a Katie Wilson, a representative of their chosen charity, The Brain Tumour Charity.
